For even better and healthy sleep, you can equip your cot with a custom-made natural mattress from Textilwerkstatt Obermühle. The mattress is made of 100% natural fibres and is breathable, elastic and dimensionally stable.

The core of the organic mattress is made of coconut fibres and natural rubber. These are covered with virgin sheep's wool on the lying surface and organic cotton on the underside. The cover is made of organic cotton. During processing, the use of chemically treated materials is completely avoided. Yarns made of organic cotton are used for all sewing work. According to old handicraft tradition, mattresses are spot-stitched by hand. Natural latex milk is used as a natural adhesive.

In the Obermühle textile workshop, natural and organic raw materials have been lovingly handcrafted into high-quality natural products since 1989. The Obermühle is located in the Rosental, a natural river landscape in the Thayatal nature park region in Lower Austria. 100% pure and tested natural materials are used for the production of the natural mattresses. Most of the raw materials such as sheep's wool, cotton and hemp come from Austria. Coconut and latex are imported in best quality from certified companies in Asia.

The Obermühle natural mattress

Each natural mattress is individually assembled for you and made from controlled raw materials. The textile workshop does not use any fossil fuels in the production process. No environmentally harmful additives or chemical adhesives are used. Natural rubber and coconut rubber come from small, certified organic farms in Sri Lanka.
